Winter is coming!

Hey UMBC,

The weather is changing quite rapidly and winter is quickly approaching, so here are a few tips on how to prepare for the upcoming Winter season!

If you're commuting to school, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to make the commute while driving safely. You should definitely have a mechanic look at your car and make sure everything is on point. If things need to be replaced, don't hesitate to have parts fixed/replaced/tuned. Windshield wipers are also important to replace to make sure that if a winter storm hits, you can adequately see out your window. When roads are covered in snow and ice, make sure to be cautious while driving and drive slower as well as trying to avoid slamming on your brakes.

As far as dressing for winter, make sure you check the weather everyday to look at what's in store. Definitely have a pair of well insulated boots to keep your toes warm and make sure you bundle up your neck with a warm scarf, your head with a beanie or hat, and also have a warm jacket and some gloves for the bitter and windy days.
